The ice caps are melting, polar bears are drowning, the fish are laden with mercury, the economy's in the toilet, and your home is being foreclosed on. But, it's not all bad news, my friends, the ducks are thriving and waterfowl season kicks off on Friday, November 28.
Despite a drop from 2007, the population is still 11 percent higher than the long-term average.
