Eugene Frazier and Thomas Johnson are two men on a mission to preserve, document and save one of the few remaining African-American slave burial sites on James Island.
The two men are in a race against time to determine who owns the cemetery property to ask permission to clear it and do their historical work. The site is the old slave cemetery of Seabrook Plantation, located in a patch of woods on Secessionville Road that dates back between 1850 and 1860.
