Update March 21: The event was a smashing time. Go check out the video.
First reporting: Yeah, you're thinking is right: The Stiletto Stampede is a 100-yard dash featuring runners in heels on Saturday, March 21.
The only rule of the kickoff event for Charleston Fashion Week is that all runners must wear no less than 3-inch heels, and the heels must be attached to the shoe at the finish line in order to win the $10,000 prize. Charleston Magazine will also give out a $1,000 prize to the best dressed runner.
The fee for the race is $30, and the deadline for online registration is March 18.
The race starts at 8 a.m. at Houston Northcutt Boulevard near Whole Foods Market in Mt. Pleasant.
One of the aims of the event is to promote MUSC Children's Hospital.
Update March 19: The Post and Courier has a story with a few tips, and notes that about a dozen men have registered. Go take a read.
