Image by Flickr user WayTru The spicy stuff of legend, now on a donught near you — well, if you live in Charleston.
Charleston is experiencing a new love affair with mobile food preparation and, being a Southern town, has long loved its fried foods.
So it's little surprise that Diggity Doughnuts would be doing well. But it is pretty good to hear that the little blue vegan doughnut truck has gotten some attention from the Food Network for its spicy "peanut butter and sriracha doughnut."
In a note pasted to their Facebook wall, they said: "Ok. so the taste tester from Food Network arrived at Coast today to try the Sriracha&PB. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this turns into a spot on a show at some point... until then, tomorrow's brunch will feature those damn good spicy egg sandwiches, nutella doughnuts and yogurt parfaits with blackberry jam. oh, and iced coffee for dayssssssssssss."
The Post and Courier also has a report on the tasty news; read it here.
If you'd like to try it, head up to Mixson from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, May 22.
You can, of course, get loads more local food truck news on our topic page.
